The Australasian Services Care Network, along with its partners and supporters, invite you to join them for the rescheduled third session of the “Virtual International Colloquium on Military Sexual and Other Forms of Abuse”.

This Colloquium brings together a range of international thought leaders to help participants to explore the issue of Military Sexual and Other Forms of Abuse and its impact on military Service members, veterans and their immediate families across the 5 Eyes Countries. This conversation aims to shine a light on this issue and share evidence-informed responses and interventions to addressing Military Sexual and Other Forms of Abuse and support those affected.

Session Three has been rescheduled and is titled “What do we know about military sexual violence? Data collection and methods”. This session features a talk from Ms Eda Gunaydin, Lecturer and Career Development Fellow in International Studies, University of Wollongong, Australia

Attendees will hear Ms Gunaydin discuss how data about military sexual violence in the Australian Defence Force is collected and kept. She will highlight how reporting of these statistics has changed over time, and what that allows us to know about the incidence of military sexual violence.

Ms Gunaydin will also discuss what we do not know about the incidence of military sexual violence, highlighting the gaps in this area and how we might develop better data collection and analytical tools to bridge these gaps.
