Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust Webinar Series - Veteran Suicide: One Is Too Many

Online
Free

Following a high interest in their previous webinar events, the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust (AFCFT) have announced their next free webinar – Veteran Suicide: One Is Too Many.

The latest in this webinar series will focus on the progress of the AFCFT One Is Too Many programme, funded by HM Treasury as part of the Veterans’ Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund. Through this programme, grants of up to £300,000 were awarded to eight, two-year projects that aim to reduce the risk of suicide in vulnerable veterans. Three of these projects are working to provide support to veterans in the Devolved Nations, and the remaining five have dedicated their support UK-wide.

Join the AFCFT for 90 minutes of insightful learning and discussion, outlining the progress that projects awarded under the One Is Too Many programme are making in preventing veteran suicide and exploring the stigma that surrounds the issue. Hear from project teams on how they are identifying and reaching vulnerable veterans, providing a joined-up approach to services and utilising different approaches to reach suicidal veterans who would otherwise not engage with appropriate care.

The 90-minute session will feature:

  • An introduction from the AFCFT Chief Executive, Anna Wright
  • The background and ethos of the One Is Too Many programme
  • A chance to hear from four of the One Is Too Many projects working with vulnerable veterans
  • Q&A with panellists

Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust will also be sharing a useful takeaway resource for attendees to use within their own networks, featuring details, useful links, and tools from all of the One Is Too Many programme projects.
